We have a winner!

Myriad Team,

After receiving nearly 200 design submissions and doing two rounds of
voting we have a winner! The final poll was very close, only one vote
separated the top two (this design and the design with the side view of the
elephant).

We will continue to work with the designer over the next day or two to add
the trademark designation for Apache and play with the colors so we have a
logo that will stand out and be distinct when amongst a lot of other
logos. Once done we will send out final files to incorporate into the
UI/web site.

Here are three color alternatives that we are playing with. As you know
there are a lot of blue logos in the big data space (open source as well as
commercial), so the maroon version is looking most unique.

Thank you to everyone who voted and provided comments during this process.
Myriad will certainly have a distinct and memorable logo.

Special thanks to Karen Whipple for leading this process!

The apache list server strips attachments. You'll have to upload them
somewhere and send a link.
