[GSoC 2012] Phonegap app
Hi,
I created the initial hello world project using phonegap. Now I have to add
it to a SVN as we can commit to it later. How can I do that. (I mean I
am familiar with SVN but where to host?,etc.)
Also I have small question. What is the reason to say use phonegap for
this. Why we will not this as an native Android project?
Regards,
Prabhath

Depends on the license, the libraries need to be Apache License compatible.
It seems that JQueryMobile is MIT which is ok.

I have another question. Is it ok to use a libray like JQueryMobile in our
application?

Hi,
I submitted a patch for the updated patch.
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PHOTARK-80?jwupdated=84516&focusedCommentId=13279024&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels%3Acomment-tabpanel#comment-13279024
It will be helpful if you can give suggestion on the UI. As the next step I
am planing to include functionality to add metadata for the photos through
the app. Do you have any suggestions about it?

Prabhath

Great Prabhath,
I have done some modifications to your app and made it as a maven project.
I have committed the code, Please continue your work from that.
In future please add all the attachments to Jira by crating new issues (if
necessary)
Note: Go through the README.txt, that's provided in the trunk to set up and
run the application.
Regards,
Suho

Here is the patch. Above question is a very important one. If we can use a
build tool it will be very useful. Now as the next step I am planing to add
the photo viewing capabilities to the app. Any suggestions on next step?

This is a point that needs investigation. I don't have a complete
answer, but the people from cordova project could help us here.

This should go into mobile trunk :
http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/photark/mobile/trunk/
As this is really the first commit on the mobile trunk, just submit a
zip patch and I can add to svn.

The main reason is that, with phoneGap, you can "generate native
applications" to different platforms (e.g. iOS, Android) using the
same html5 application.
