[jira] Commented: (CASSANDRA-1583) add ColumnDef support to cli

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-1583?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=12918935#action_12918935 ]

Pavel Yaskevich commented on CASSANDRA-1583:
--------------------------------------------

What do you think about following format?

column_metadata=[{name:Name, validator:ValidatorID, index_type:IdxType, index_name:IdxName}, {...}]

So building block is {name:Name, validator:ValidatorID, index_type:IdxType, index_name:IdxName} where Name, ValidatorID, IdxType and IdxName will be replaced with actual values and index_* fields will be optional.

> currently "create columnfamily" supports setting values on the CfDef struct, but the column_metadata field is a set of ColumnDef structs and the cli does not know how to parse these.
