Revised ODBC doc accordingly. The 64-bit requirement for the machine is stated. A note says the 32- or 64-bit driver is supported on a 64-bit machine.

Furthermore, although few user run 64 bit windows these days, it would be helpful to make this requirement more explicit.  In particular, rapid installation of Windows on VirtualBox will often result in 32 bit version being installed by default, since it's the preselected default during installation process.
