Hi Zhe, please just do "git cherrypick" to merge HDFS-8499 to the EC branch.  We do not need JIRAs for minor conflicts.  You may fix them before commit.  We only create new JIRAs for non-trivial conflicts.

We should only merge HDFS-8499 as-is (except for resolving conflicts).  For any other changes, let's do it in a separated JIRAs.
