[jira] [Created] (DIRSERVER-1640) Make the replication compatible
with OpenLDAP when ApacheDS is a producer
Make the replication compatible with OpenLDAP when ApacheDS is a producer
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: DIRSERVER-1640
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSERVER-1640
Project: Directory ApacheDS
Issue Type: New Feature
Affects Versions: 2.0.0-M1
Reporter: Emmanuel Lecharny
Fix For: 2.1.0
Currently, we use a specific control to manage MODDN operations, in order to avoid the sending of potentially hundreds of entries to the consumer. OpenLDAP does not support this feature.
In the next version, we should add a way to dectect that the consumer does not support this feature, and then switch back to the standard RFC 4533 replication mode.
This can be done by sending a specific control attached to the first LDAP replication request.
