Depends on how you index. If you use a Java program,

seems to do the trick (I haven't tried that one myself).

If you are sending updates using curl or similar, you just need to start more processes doing that.

If you are using DataImportHandler, I think you are out of luck. As far as I know, it does not support multiple index threads.
