response.sendRedirect behavior again

Hello folks,

I have upgraded to cocoon1.8.1 and am in the process of testing all my
cocoon apps with the new release (previously I was on 1.8dev).

Now I have a major app (over 100KByte worth of XSP files) and it doesn't
work anymore. I am using response.sendRedirect a lot in this app to
control program flow. But - unlike in my auth taglib - I do not catch
any exceptions - still the redirect doesn't work, in fact all XSP pages
using redirects don't work anymore as a whole (they do database
reading/writing and other stuff).

So, what can/should I do now? Why don't we get rid of the exception
cocoon throws?
