   I won't trust manually handrolled benchmarks or common sampling profilers: I suggest instead to use JMH (for benchmarking) and async-profiler as a profiler.
   There are many optimizations that the JVM can (and will) do that doesn't make results reliable in this case..
   Will explain about it on Monday mate :)
