Node /kafka/brokers/ids/0 does not exist

We're running Kafka 0.8.1.1 and just upgraded to Storm 0.9.5. We now get
this error when trying to consume from Kafka:

Node /kafka/brokers/ids/0 does not exist

I can see /kafka/brokers/ids is empty in zookeeper, but
/kafka/brokers/topics has all of our topics in there. I also see that under
/kafka/spouts all of our kafka spouts are still there. Anyone have an idea
of what is going on here?
