[jira] [Created] (GEODE-10003) Support JDK 17 on Geode

Owen Nichols created GEODE-10003:
------------------------------------

Summary: Support JDK 17 on Geode
                 Key: GEODE-10003
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GEODE-10003
             Project: Geode
          Issue Type: Improvement
            Reporter: Owen Nichols

JDK 17 Schedule: [https://openjdk.java.net/projects/jdk/17/]

The first ticket to suggest going beyond JDK8 was GEODE-3.  Now that JDK17 is LTS, and Spring and other users are embracing JDK17, Geode should at least run (if not compile) on JDK17.

This may take a lot of work, possibly requiring a new major release.  Please add subtasks to this ticket as necessary.
