This is more of a Usability issue. Please look at the steps below:
After installation of the cluster on multiple nodes
Services > HDFS > Summary > DataNodes link > Click
This takes user to Hosts page with filter set to DataNode
Click on Dashboard in the top bar
click on the Hosts button in the top bar
The filter is still set and its confusing for the user.
I think if user comes to host page from service page > any service > summary > hosts, then setting the filter is right.
But when Hosts button is clicked in the top panel the filter should be cleared on the host page.
This use case might seem not major, but for regular all day user it can be annoying to keep clearing the filter all the time.


In summary:
As for all kind of filters on 'Hosts page' after this fix will be:
In the cases:
1) Navigating to 'Hosts' (clicking in top bar)
2) Refresh 'Hosts 'page
the following filters would be cleared:
Hosts health status filter, Sorting filters, Hostname/IP address/components... .etc filters
the following filters would be persisted:
Page size, Hosts selection
