Still in the forum.

Hi,

I am still in the forum and read the responses from
the people below.

Erik Hatcher,
Luca De Petrillo,
Dyson, Jimmi,
David Ethell,
Vjeran Marchinko,
Kevin J. Menard, Jr.
Tim Youghblood
Jamie Orchard-Hays,
Erric Schneider,
David Ezzio,
kdorff@kcp.com,
Holger Stephan,
Terry Pot

I hope I have not missed any one who replied to my
post. Because I will response you all soon. I post
this message because some of the messages talked about
whether or not I am in the forum. I have some
deadlines to keep. I do not want to respond quickly
and rethink the steps that got me here. On the other
hand, I must say that I did not and do not intent to
create tension in this forum, even though I probably,
unfortunately did. So I apologize for that. But I find
some of the responses humiliating so I am goint to
reply them properly.

Re: Still in the forum.

Posted by F Da Costa Gomez <da...@gmail.com>.
Missed your earlier post.

Just wanted to point something out re. the productivity.
2 Months ago i teamed up with 2 non-tapestry guys to whip up a Funding &
Securitisation demo (for which we had 2.5 weeks).
I got these guys up and running within a week (trying to do my own stuff
as well) and they finished it up on time. They also bought the book (as
did i).
The demo was fully functional (*no* dummy screens etc.) incl. an oodb
back-end.

Before that they were mucking about with JSP and what have you.
According to them there is no comparison. Esp. the complete seperation
between logic and presentation is impressive.

If you look for my name in the list you can tell that i am by no means a
specialist (by any measure) but i was able to get two *real* developers
out of the starting gate rather quickly. Mainly due to this very list
and the replies/ help of many other strugglers and gurus.

To each his own but Tapestry (for me in combination with Spindle) is
probably one of the best web-app things 'out there' at this moment so i
guess its up to you. There are always (at least) two ways of doing
things, the easy and the hard way.

I wish you lots of wiswom,

Cheers,
Fermin DCG
