[GitHub] [couchdb] remi0023 opened a new issue, #4450: .couch file from deleted database still exists on some nodes

remi0023 opened a new issue, #4450:
URL: https://github.com/apache/couchdb/issues/4450

   Hi,
I run a CouchDB 2.3.1 cluster for several years and startet to clean up (delete) unused databases.
The databases get removed from the cluster and they are not longer available. However the databases are still present on some nodes within the shards directory with their origin size.
Is it save to remove the .couch files on each node manually? If not any suggestions?

   Thanks for your advice

   Hi,

it should be safe to remove those files manually (do a bykup for safety reasons), if you removed the db from the cluster. I would additional check the membership of your nodes to see, if the cluster has all nodes. I recommend you think about updating to the latest version, there are many security fixes and other improvments. I will close this for now, if you have any further questions, please reopen this thread.
