I didn't realize that the bug is on the client side only in the test which
calls spamd with the --socketpath option. I'm changing the bug title.

That makes this of much less importance.

$workdir is still inside the log subdirectory of the current directory where
the test is being run, so only saves 31 characters, which makes the problem
less likely to happen but doesn't solve it. However, knowing what the problem
is exactly and seeing it only is a problem in the tests, I can figure out what
to do now.
