large thresholds

Benedict updated CASSANDRA-15233:
---------------------------------
Workflow: Cassandra Default Workflow (was: Cassandra Bug Workflow)
Issue Type: Improvement (was: Bug)
> Internode Messaging: Decouple large thresholds
> ----------------------------------------------
>
> Key: CASSANDRA-15233
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-15233
> Project: Cassandra
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Reporter: Benedict
> Priority: Normal
>
> Internode messaging has a large message threshold, that conflates a number of related switches: processing the serialisation on a separate thread, sending the message on a separate connection for QoS, and the maximum number of bytes to send in a single frame. These are all independent properties, that should be untangled.
