Svn frontend is a must for large repos

Hi.
I had to spend 2 hours to clone one of the 3Gb Netbeans Mercurial repos .
At the same time, happy Github users can checkout individual folders using https://help.github.com/articles/support-for-subversion-clients/

I checked BitBucket and some other free Mercurial hosters, but they don't provide a similar feature.

Is there some software that could be installed on hg.netbeans.org and let us do:

   svn co http://hg.netbeans.org/svn/repo/sub/folder

?
in b4 HgSubversion does the opposite thing.

Current NetBeans repo is mirrored at https://github.com/apache/incubator-netbeans

You can’t use SVN with that?
