[jira] Commented: (MAPREDUCE-967) TaskTracker does not need to fully unjar job jars

Todd Lipcon commented on MAPREDUCE-967:
---------------------------------------

HADOOP-6346 is ready to go pending last approval from Hudson. Does anyone have a moment to review this one? You'll need to run against a common jar built from that jira, if you want to try it. Also please note my question asked above. Thanks!

> In practice we have seen some users submitting job jars that consist of 10,000+ classes. Unpacking these jars into mapred.local.dir and then cleaning up after them has a significant cost (both in wall clock and in unnecessary heavy disk utilization). This cost can be easily avoided
