Help: mod_perl & php3

Dear All,
  Hope some of you might have already encountered this
before. Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
  I am trying to make PHP work with mod_perl. My
server looks like this:

Apache/1.3.9 (Unix) PHP/3.0.14 mod_perl/1.21
FrontPage/4.0.4.3 configured


Some of the httpd.conf lines related looks like
following:
------------------------------------------------
LoadModule perl_module        libexec/libperl.so
LoadModule php3_module        libexec/libphp3.so


AddType application/x-httpd-php3 .php3 .html .htm
AddType application/x-httpd-php3-source .phps


<Location /registered>
        SetHandler perl-script 
        PerlHandler Apache::CheckPoint
</Location>

It's up to a point I became so desperate that now
CheckPoint does nothing but just "return DECLINED".

Right now, any HTML under /registered pops up a "Save
as..." window with "type/x-httpd-php3".

Apparently PHP just steped aside looking at the output
from mod_perl without handling it.

Any clue? please reply by mail. Thanks a lot in
advance!
