Adding "relaunch Apache Abdera project" as a Google Summer of Code

Hi,

everybody knows there aren't active commiters in the project right now.
Apache's initial list of ideas for the GSOC is already open and I was
thinking if it could be a good idea to add relaunching Abdera as a
proposal.

If it would be accepted I'd be more than happy to mentoring it.

https://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?mode=hide&requestId=12314021

What do you think?

That's a very nice idea indeed.

I'd like to volunteer to fix-up the Abdera trunk, and bring it to a good
working condition, asap, so that some student who takes up this project can
work on it.

Thanks and Best Regards,
Senaka.

+1

Having said that, it would be good to have trunk build passing
successfully in order to welcome student contributions.
