Jessica Tomechak created CLOUDSTACK-1926:
--------------------------------------------

             Summary: Scalability Guide
                 Key: CLOUDSTACK-1926
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-1926
             Project: CloudStack
          Issue Type: Improvement
Security Level: Public (Anyone can view this level - this is the default.)
          Components: Doc
            Reporter: Jessica Tomechak

How a cloud can scale in CloudStack. Features that support it. Limits, if any.

Requested by Mike Tutkowski.

Mike writes: Are you aware of any documentation we have with regards to scalability? I found this one:

http://www.citrix.co.jp/event/pdf/5-scalability.pdf

Is there a max number of clusters CS supports? Is there a max number of primary storages CS supports?

Chiradeep: No hard-coded maximums. Probably limited by the performance of the database most likely. I know of deployments which have tens of thousands.
