Currently Excel can not open service document, metadata and I  am not sure about data. Actually Excel OData capabilities  is my  only reason  to use OData protocol  and would like my services to support Excel 2016.
Issues seem trivial e.g. Excel requires absolute metadata URL in service document but It is complicated to maintain fixes in custom processors because  tests have to use ODataLib  whitch  depends on .NET
