errors: recover and permission denied

Hi,

i am having problems while making a checkout. The repository crashes all the time and asks for a recovery:

Berkeley DB error while opening environment for filesystem /home/repository/deb:
DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery
bdb: PANIC: fatal region error detected; run recovery

we run "svnadmin recover repository" and the repository recovers successfully. but when trying to access again, the following errors apear:

Berkeley DB error while checkpointing after Berkeley DB transaction for filesystem /home/repository/db:
DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery
bdb: /home/repository/db/log.0000000117: log file open failed: Permission denied
bdb: PANIC: Permission denied
bdb: DB_ENV->log_put: 117: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery
bdb: txn_checkpoint: log failed at LSN[117 601622]DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery

I do not understand why "permission denied" appears because every user of the group owning the repository has "umask" set in "002" so that every file created by tha user could me read and modifyed by every other user of the group.
Does anyone know what could be happening and how to solve my problem?

Thank you in advance,
Mariana.
