Stupid question

Hi I have a rather silly question to ask.

I am using Tomcat. Since all my webapp documents are XML files and therefore processed by Cocoon, why would I want to bother installing a web server like Apache? All my clients requests are going to port 8080 anyway.

Now I can see that if you had static HTML documents you might want them to be served by a robust web server (Apache). Other than that, I can see the use of a conventional web server for a Cocoon webapp if all documents are dynamic XML files.

In which case the main issue is how well Tomcat & Cocoon can scale.

Yann.
