RE: Log4j within JSP -CAUTION

Hi Scott,

We had used log4j in our formbeans (ours was a struts application) and
jsps; but there was a problem when our application executed in the
clustering environment. When a failover happens, the view layer component
float as usual in session or request, but a reference to log module is
maintained always which ofcourse is below view layer.
Suppose a failover has happened and there was a reference to a log file on
the earler server, the new server taking up the charge will find the logger
object null and henceforth the chaos ... So we are going by the idea of not
using log4j in view layer at all.

Everyone,
This was the conclusion reached by us. Pls correct me if I am wrong. I am
open to every suggestion.
