Mod_perl Apache session and apache dbi working together

Will apache Session and apache dbi work together. I've them both on a
Solaris machine (newest apache, newest mod_perl, newest session and newest
DBI) and the server is not happy. 
 
the error log complains about 'Already connected'  then 'object does not
exist in the data store'. Yeah, the object isn't in the data store cause
session_id was NULL!!! eeeps! Help!
