I'm thinking we should cut a 3.3 release as soon as we have updated 
build sorted. Niclas has been working on getting the build into a better 
(easier to maintain) state - and progress there is looking promising. 
There is still some documentation updates to be done - but nothing more 
that a weekend's attention.

There are two approach we could take:

   (a) release 3.3 relative to framework 4.1.5 and the existing
       excalibur released packages

   (b) do a release of the excalibur content (including james deps
       thread, pool and datasource), framework, and logkit, in
       conjunction with a merlin and related system release

My preference would be on option (b) but I would need to look in more 
details as to what that would involve.  If a (b) scenario looks feasible 
and there are no issues raised - we could be looking at a release in 
about three weeks time.   I'm posting this to dev with cc to users. 
Follow-up should be directed to the dev list.
