Indexing and Dictionary based compression

This is more of a general question than lucene specific.

Is it possible to combine Dictionary based compression and Indexing, so that
indexing algorithm can use dictionary (hash table) created by compression
algorithm (or, the other way) ? are there any systems already doing like
this? is it possible to do it in apache lucene?
