-1 (non-binding) : a few bugs were identified while testing the release and have mergeable PRs to fix them. Most notable is #29295<https://github.com/apache/airflow/pull/29295> but there are also #29296<https://github.com/apache/airflow/pull/29296> and #29297<https://github.com/apache/airflow/pull/29297>. I also see another bugfix ready to merge : #29214<https://github.com/apache/airflow/pull/29214>.

For license checks, the .rat-excludes files is included, so you can run the following to verify licenses:
tar -xvf airflow-chart-1.8.0-source.tar.gz
cd airflow-chart-1.8.0
java -jar /apache-rat-0.13/apache-rat-0.13.jar chart -E .rat-excludes
Please note that the version number excludes the `rcX` string, so it's now
simply 1.8.0. This will allow us to rename the artifact without modifying
the artifact checksums when we actually release it.
The status of testing the Helm Chart by the community is kept here:

Since the reports by Jules don't indicate regression I see no reason to
block this release.
Should release manager decide the bug fixes are important we can prepare a
followup 1.8.1 release

Hi Jed, yes : I believe bugs found in rcs should be addressed if possible before releasing and subsequently included in the release, so I maintain my -1, but I'm also happy with your commitment to speed up the release cycle and get these bug fixes in the next release ; thanks for that :)

Thanks for the participation Jules. None of those are regressions from the
latest release so they will end up in the next release instead of blocking
this one.
In general if we cut new RCs for every non-regression bug we'd spin our
wheels a lot (less of an issue for the helm chart than core Airflow, but
still). I do intend to do these releases more frequently (shooting for
monthly like we do with providers), but if we get enough bugs stacked up
earlier I'm not opposed to doing a one-off either.
