The difficulty with the jobs is that it takes a long time on the low powered dual core gh runners. Even with our few revdeps it takes more than 6 hours(not sure if this also applies to self-hosted runners) which is the hard limit for a GHA step. So we will need to split it up into multiple steps and modify the revdepcheck queue etc.. Or just run it manually prior to release, which of course has the potential to be overlooked (as has happened before)...
