Well, when the kit *is* tested and available, I suspect it might
be a Good Thing to mention it explicitly on apache-announce.
After the usual 24-hour delay to let the mirrors get it.

This one installed, configured and ran fine on a virgin Win95 setup.
(installed to non-default path with long filename which including spaces
and periods)
Minor niggle: The final readme file wasn't displayed after installshield
finished (call it READMENT.TXT instead of README.NT so it has a default
mapping?). I don't think this is a showstopper though.

Here's another build, like the last but with the configuration files
fixed:
httpd/dist/apache_1_3_0b.exe

Ok, abort mission. Takeoff delayed.

Oh, great. How did those lines get past the double-quoting process? Umm,
that'll teach me to do my test installations to c:\a1, c:\a2, c:\a3 etc
with no spaces.

Should work. Are you starting it with "-s" to avoid waiting for the
service manager to try and start the Apache service (if not: there is a
30 second wait every time you start Apache on NT from the console).

Negatory.
SRM: Alias /icons/ C:/Programme/Apache Group/Apache/icons/
Err> Syntax error on line 146 of c:/programme/apache group/apache/conf/srm.conf:
Err> Alias takes two arguments, a fakename and a realname
ACC: <Directory C:/Programme/Apache Group/Apache/htdocs>
Err> Syntax error on line 62 of c:/programme/apache group/apache/conf/access.conf:

And then, I couldn't start apache stand-alone under WinNT (is that
intentional? It starts, prints its starup msg but accepts no connections.
Why doesn't it fail in the first place?)
As a service, it starts up alright.

Someone should check it works, then move it to the real dist directory.
