[users@httpd] Proxy & Content Length

I'm running 2.0.45 and am having trouble using mod_proxy and accessing 
Microsoft's Windows Update site.  According to some folks on the proxy 
list, it's a content-length filter issue.  That has been corrected in 
the proxy mod but the problem is also present in the apache core.  Does 
anyone know if there is a workaround for this or a patch available?  Any 
help would be greatly appreciated to get httpd to stop messing with the 
content length.
