Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
        Key: FOR-70
Summary: javascript menu handles duplicates poorly
       Type: Bug

     Status: Unassigned
   Priority: Major

    Project: Forrest
  Component: Forrest skins
   Versions:
             0.5

   Assignee:
   Reporter: Dave Brondsema

    Created: Thu, 18 Sep 2003 4:23 PM
    Updated: Thu, 18 Sep 2003 4:23 PM
Environment: krysalis-skin

Description:
Two bugs I found in the krysalis javascript menu:

If you have multiple directories with the same name (e.g. one/abc and two/abc) then clicking on the second 'abc' name in the menu collapses the first one, not the one you just clicked on.

If you have the same file referenced in multiple places from site.xml, when you are on that page the menu expands in both places. This is okay. However, when I click on the parent folder of the first reference, the parent folder of the second reference collapses.

If this doesn't make sense, let me know, and I'll create a simple test-case.
