http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=40359

           Summary: LoadModule failed.
           Product: Apache httpd-2
           Version: 2.3-HEAD
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: AIX
            Status: NEW
          Severity: critical
          Priority: P1
         Component: Build
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: sundarp@hcl.in

I have built an apache module for Apache 2.0.55 and Apache 2.2.2 on Linux, AIX
and Solaris. On all the platforms the module gets properly loaded except on AIX 5.2.
FYI, on AIX 5.1, the LoadModule succeeds on Apache 2.2.2.
On AIX 5.2, I am not able to start the apache with the module loaded.

I have special LDFLAGS defined for AIX,
--for apache 2.0.x --
ifeq "rs6000-aix" "$(OS)"
LDFLAGS+= -bI:$(LIBROOT)/$(OS)/apache/httpd/2.0/httpd-2.0.47/lib/httpd.exp
-L$(LIBROOT)/$(OS)/apache/httpd/2.0/httpd-2.0.47/lib -lapr-0 -laprutil-0
endif

-- for apache 2.2.2 -

ifeq "rs6000-aix" "$(OS)"
LDFLAGS+= -bI:$(LIBROOT)/$(OS)/apache-httpd/2.2.0/lib/httpd.exp
-L$(LIBROOT)/$(OS)/apache-httpd/2.2.0/lib -lapr-1 -laprutil-1
endif

Can someone help me understand why this happens ?. If need be I am ready to
provide more information on the problem. when I use dump- Tv <my module> I have
the ap_ functions not linked to anything. though I give the above flags, during
compilation I get warnings.

Re-arranging the above into a meaningful sentence...

Please show the exact failures from an unmodified 2.2.3 or 2.0.59 build.

You say there is a failure on AIX, yet the ld output you give appears to be from
Solaris? If you don't define custom LDFLAGS on AIX does the build succeed?

Please show exact the exact from unmodified 2.2.3 or 2.0.59.
