   As referenced in #998, it is inconvenient to lose your search input when you lose focus. This is especially true when using custom keys in the real world. For example, on my current project we had keys that combined different attributes for a document separated by a special character and having to re-input each attribute was time consuming.
   
   When I was originally investigating this issue, I disregarded the version of React-Select that was used in this project and immediately came across this issue: https://github.com/JedWatson/react-select/issues/3189
   
   Thankfully, in [React-Select V1.X](https://www.npmjs.com/package/react-select-v1) there is a simple boolean that is supported to handle this exact issue. However, later versions removed this feature and so hopefully by the time it is upgraded a better solution will be figured out - some working hacks are mentioned in the issue above.
   
   Since this is a built in feature, no test is required.
