What does it mean "LocalSyslogAppender doesn't work"? What do you expect to happen under which preconditions?

Please note that log4net at the moment has two active developers and at least 50% of it do not have a macOS at hand. Therefore it is about to impossible to test/fix anything without access to the mac ecosystem. I'm afraid you're on your own with this. However, patches are greatly welcome!
