Externalize File Name for an APPENDER

Can we externalize the file name for an APPENDER??  I would like to create 1
APPENDER (e.g. RollingFileAppender), but would like to create multiple
categories that point to the same appender but create different log files.
In other words, can we create a parameter for the file value in an
appender???
