[NNTP] Commons NNTP or JavaMail?

I am woking on a news reader program and I don't know whether Commons
NNTP or JavaMail is suitable for me.

I search through the net and found that only one NNTP provider for
JavaMail, which is under GNU ClassPathX project. Why so few NNTP
provider compare to some email protocol?

The news reader program would be a server side program which get posts
from news server, process / transform the content and maybe store them
to local database.

Which method is suitable to me? any suggestion?
