Auto increment

Hi all,

Is there an autoincrement function like the ones you would find in an RDBMS?

It appears to be possible to emulate a sequence in JCR using the Locked util
(http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/jackrabbit-users/200604.mbox/%3C44
44B610.5000403@gmx.net%3E).
