[PROPOSAL] Splitt lenya/lenya/usecase.xmap
Hello Developers,
I'm currently extending Michi's Epoz integration. Saving and triggering
workflow works. Now I want to develop a transformation for the
lenya:meta part, which is not (re)transmitted by Epoz on save.
Therefor I aggregate the PUT stream with the old version of the doc.
On that way, I saw the real big usecase.xmap file, where all the editor
stuff is in. I propose to splitt this file and mount smaller usecase
specific sitemaps.
What do you think? Might be a good idea for 1.4.

+1 for splitting and having per usecase a sitemap.
we can create a directotry src/webapp/lenya/usecases/...
then it shouldn't be that bad.

I don't see a reason for not starting right now, or would it cause a

Milestone 1.4 and announcement text for 1.2 (Re: [PROPOSAL] Splitt lenya/lenya/usecase.xmap)

I suggest that you add it as an "enhancement" request to Bugzilla and set
the milestone to 1.4.
If the open issues/tasks for 1.4 are all in Bugzilla it is easy to compile a
list of the new features which are being prepared. This list can be used for
the official announcement of 1.2.
Cheers,
Andreas

I think the benefit is much greater than the disadvantage.
Schedule for 1.4?

Very +1.
The question is - should there be one sitemap per usecase?
At the moment, if you override the usecase sitemap in a
publication, you have one sitemap per usecase. So this
would be quite consistent (one sitemap overrides another
sitemap with the same name).
In this case, we could even use the fallback module in
the <map:mount> statement.
The disadvantage is that we have quite a lot of sitemaps ...

-1 (unbinding)
Please do not make such changes for minor releases. Those releases should be
reserved almost only for bugfixes.

I propose to schedule this one for 1.2.1?

I'm against refactoring the sitemap for 1.2.
I think it will be easier and faster when we don't have
to be as careful as we have to be now.

yes, it is becoming unwieldy.
+1
i am ok with making "obviously correct" changes for 1.2, but will speak
up against other changes that may destabilize 1.2
