[jira] [Commented] (ARROW-11419) [C++] DICTIONARY_REPLACEMENT neither read nor written

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARROW-11419?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17276060#comment-17276060 ]

Micah Kornfield commented on ARROW-11419:
-----------------------------------------

this is accurate, I thought I had a Jira to track implementation.  I added the enum early because we were reaching 1.0 and it would have been a forward compatible change to add it.  So there is not implementation to date.

> The IPC format has a feature field DICTIONARY_REPLACEMENT to advertise the use of dictionary replacement but it is not emitted by the IPC writer, even if dictionary replacement occurred.
