[PROPOSAL] Add TeaServlet to Tomcat

<http://opensource.go.com/TeaServlet/index.html>

TeaServlet is a product developed by opensource.go.com. It is released under
a BSD license and thus is compatible with our software distributions.

<http://opensource.go.com/license.html>

I would like to add that to the default distribution of Tomcat because I
think it is a great technology and a great alternative to JSP and will get a
much wider distribution this way.

:-)

Inclusion of any technology in the "official" distribution of Tomcat
implies a
willingness to support users who use that technology. Otherwise, we
will just
get a variation of Jon's original concern: "Tomcat sucks because
TeaServlet has
bug XYZ".

Therefore, I'm -1 on including anything in the official distribution
without a
description of how user support for the added components will occur.

The Jakarta project mission has both JSP and Servlet in it.

Just like it would be meaningless to propose "great alternative"s to Java
Servlets in the Jakarta project, I feel it is inappropriate to have "great
alternative to JSP" in the Jakarta project as well.

I think this should be dealt with whichever body under ASF can propose changes
to the Jakarta project mission.

The same thing that JSP does.

-1 What does the below have to do with Tomcat?

Hey, I wrote some software for the Amiga years ago,
I would like to propose we include it with the Tomcat distribution.

Even better, the Amiga technology is probably selling pretty cheap
by now, maybe the ASF could buy the whole thing and distribute the
AmigaOS with Tocmat. ;-)
