[jira] Created: (INFRA-709) Secondary MySQL database for Jira on
issues.apache.org
Secondary MySQL database for Jira on issues.apache.org
------------------------------------------------------
Key: INFRA-709
URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-709
Project: Infrastructure
Type: Task
Reporter: Jeff Turner
Currently there is a 'jira' database in MySQL for Jira. Could we please get a 'jira_backup' or 'jira2' database created? I'd find it useful for various things:
- Upgrades sometimes require importing a backup file of Jira data into a clean database. This is to cater for schema changes that can't be done with SQL (across all dbs). A spare database would make this possible.
- Occasionally it's useful to have a mirror copy of JIRA running on a mirror database, to do things like reindex the data and test upgrades (staging).
Currently there is a 'jira' user, which has permissions in the 'jira' database. This same user would preferably have permissions on the second database.
