[jira] [Created] (CB-13250) Android app launch icon in config.xml not applied

Richard Mott created CB-13250:
---------------------------------

Summary: Android app launch icon in config.xml not applied
                 Key: CB-13250
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CB-13250
             Project: Apache Cordova
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: cordova-android
    Affects Versions: 6.2.2
         Environment: Cordova 7.0.1
Installed platforms:
android 6.2.3 (not included in Jira drop-down menu above)
Android Studio 2.3.3
            Reporter: Richard Mott
            Assignee: Joe Bowser

I put <icon> tags in config.xml. I copied the example style in latest Cordova docs. This works fine for IOS, but not for Android. I tried both a single <icon> tag and multiple resolution-specific tags within <platform name="android">. Neither approach works for me.

In Android Studio I can set an app icon successfully, so that is my workaround. I notice that Cordova copies my multiple icons to a set of mipmap folders under /res, But they are ignored. However after setting via Android Studio, I see that Studio groups my launch icons within a single mipmap/ic_launcher.png folder. Perhaps Cordova needs to do this?
