[Issue 126899] New: OpenOffice will NOT open
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=126899
Issue ID: 126899
Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: OpenOffice will NOT open
Product: General
Version: 4.0.0
Hardware: PC
OS: Windows XP
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: Critical
Priority: P5 (lowest)
Component: help
Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
Reporter: ubohammer@gmail.com
I use OpenOffice Writer EVERY DAY multiple times a day for my online magazine.
For some reason, two days ago, it won't open. I tried other Open Office
programs and they won't open either. Non-Open-Office programs DO open on my PC.
I tried to go into the USER area of the C drive and it doesn't follow the
directions your website offers to open a password page or unlock whatever...
I need help and it would be best over the phone or if someone could help me
internally.
Thank you,
Aaris A. Schroeder

You are in wrong place here. This is a bug tracking system and not a helpdesk.
This behavior is not typical and AOO run fine with Windows.
A very large proportion of problems in OpenOffice are cured by deleting or
renaming the User Profile. Details about it are given in:
https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=12426
If this does not work, please bring your problem to the support Forum first.
