Is this project still in progress?

It's many days since I don't see any action from any of the developpers.
There's been some issues raised in this list, patches and changes
proposed, and no answers at all... Is the project still alive?

Salut,

Jordi.

To JMeter users/developers,
I am not working on JMeter currently, nor do I know if I will work on it again. There
seems to be some confusion about who is behind JMeter at Apache, and I think you
should all know that essentially no one is. The list of contributors is a list of people who
have sent in patches or committed changes to CVS. I was the only long-term developer
of JMeter since May 2000.

Anyone who wants write-access to the CVS should ask. It is possible to arrange it,
though it is sometimes hard to get the attention of those who have the power.

Too bad. :-(

I didn't know I was.

James Boutcher just said he'll try to find time. I'll try to make sure
most patches sent to the list recently make it into bugzilla so he can
work on it from there.

Salut,

Jordi.

AW: Is this project still in progress?

Posted by Wolfram Rittmeyer <w....@proplant.de>.
Hi all,

since I am mentioned on the list I should add, that I plan to contribute
again, but right now I am a bit busy. Tough I still follow some threads in
here, I have no time developing anything JMeter-related at the moment.

But I am positive about developing again in the future.

cu,

Wolfram

I think beeing the main developer is not a problem, because there is a need
for somebody that will check and commit patches. People are sending patches
and it would be a great loss if they were not included.

I'm very happy to hear that Mike has found a new job. That's good news
indeed, even if it means a big loss for the JMeter project.

But I assume he wasn't the only developper in the project, was he?

Anyway. Yes, I can volunteer for some of this "patching" work --
although I'm sure I won't become a "main developer" or anything similar,
since 1/ I have a very demanding job -- which luckily involves using
JMeter, that's why I become "active", as you said it, from time to time;
and 2/ there's a lot about JMeter that I just don't understand -- mainly
everything related to GUI, since Java GUI programming is not my strength
(I'm work on the server side).

Salut,

Jordi.

As far as I know, main developer, contributor and release manager Mike Stover
is temporarily or permanently busy. He told me he wasn't sure if he return to
jMeter at all. It's sad because he was very active and he's silent for about
one month. So perhaps another person should gain contributor access for
applying patches? You are quite active, perhaps you :-)
