Of the status codes lists, the only one we might be able to handle safely is 503 and that would require changes to ensure that the current request was fully swallowed before processing the next request.
   
   The security concerns make sense, but I think users may want to opt out.
   The concerns would be mitigated fairly if the default behavior is dropping.
   Users will explicitly disable it only when they know what they are doing.
