bayes 'turn-on' switch for spamc

I've been using SA 2.63 in the spamc/spamd configuration for about a month
now on a single-user mail server. Yesterday I fed sa-learn my collection
of 250 spams (all I have) and about 1500 hams. However, none of my
recent messages have BAYES_xx scores.

Further investigation, and a spamassassin restart, revealed that if I run
spamassassin -D < test.spam then the output shows BAYES_99 as it should,
but if I run spamc < test.spam then I don't get any bayes hits.

Any idea?
