[users@httpd] Counting hits

Is there a way to tell how many visitors have been to all sites put up
by apache, without having cgi scripts on each website. Just a number
nothing fancy.

It does more than that, but take a look at awstats

awstats.sourceforge.net

That's what log files are for:
http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/logs.html

But note that getting a count of "visitors" is very difficult. You can
count "hits" relatively easily. There was an extensive discussion of this
on the list in the past week. Check the archives.
