Dear Sir or Madam,
I am a developer and I need to contribute to the openoffice project.
What should I do? It is the first time I will occupy with open source so I
am totally beginner on this subject.

First of all a warm welcome. The best point to start is 
http://openoffice.apache.org/get-involved.html

Generaly it's up to you (or your company) what you doint at Apache 
OpenOffice. btw, you should subscribe this Mailing List.

Now I wish you a good start at Apache OpenOffice. If you have questions, 
just ask.
